The BSc (Hons) Computer Science program at LSBU - UAE is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in computer science principles, equipping them with the essential skills required to excel in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Modules
Programming in C
Basics of C programming, data types, operators, control structures, functions, arrays, pointers.
Mathematics for Computer Science
Discrete mathematics, logic, set theory, functions, relations, combinatorics, and graph theory.
Computer Organization & Architecture
Basic computer hardware, CPU, memory hierarchy, storage devices, binary systems, and instruction sets.
Digital Electronics
Logic gates, Boolean algebra, combinational circuits, sequential circuits, flip-flops, registers, counters, and memory units.
Principles of Communication
Introduction to communication systems, data transmission methods, and networks, including analog and digital signals.
Data Structures & Algorithms
Linear and nonlinear data structures (arrays, stacks, queues, trees, graphs), sorting and searching algorithms, time complexity.
Database Management Systems
Introduction to databases, ER models, relational databases, SQL, normalization, transactions, and query processing.
Operating Systems
Processes, memory management, file systems, scheduling algorithms, deadlock, security, and resource management.
Software Engineering
Software development lifecycle, requirement gathering, design, testing, maintenance, and methodologies like Agile and Waterfall.
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Concepts of OOP, classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and abstraction (using C++/Java).
Computer Networks
Network models (OSI, TCP/IP), data communication, IP addressing, protocols (HTTP, FTP, TCP), routing, and network security.
Compiler Design
Lexical analysis, syntax analysis, semantic analysis, parsing techniques, code optimization, and code generation.
Web Technologies
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web frameworks, database connectivity, client-server architecture, and web application development.
Artificial Intelligence

Project Work / Internship
Practical implementation of concepts learned in the previous years, working on a real-world project or participating in an internship.
Academic Qualifications:
- High School: Minimum aggregate of 55% from any recognized board of curriculum.
- Minimum Requirement: 60% in English in either Bachelor's or High School.
- Alternative: Equivalent pass in an internal test in English.
- Exceptional Candidates: Significant work experience in any relevant field.
- Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of work experience
